2021.10.28 11:51 Solar111 Alternatives to paper or plastic for document preservation? (e.g. cloth, steel, etc.)
Hi all – Professional solutions for long-term storage of papers and documents tend to be made of paper (or paperboard) or plastics (e.g. polyester or polypropylene). I'm curious about the suitability of other materials, such as:

I’m at a point where I would and could use my ebike for just about everything I would usually use my car for, but I just can’t figure out how to leave it outside of businesses without it getting stolen. The steps I would take with my beater bike - a good U lock or chain just doesn’t feel good enough when the bike is such a target.
How do you folks approach it?

2021.10.28 11:51 Remarkable-Method677 My two week post surgery recovery thus far
I think it's important to see all sides, and here's my recovery so far. First, I was weight bearing immediately. I did listen to the advice on this sub and tried not to over-do it, so if I went to the kitchen or bathroom those first couple days, I would go back to the couch and prop my foot up, and tried to remember to use crutches to take some pressure off the foot. Iced a couple times a day, did ankle ABCs and leg pumps to move fluid, followed my docs instructions on pain management; by day six I really didn't need anything to manage the pain. Around days four and five post op, I was having "zingers" (shots of pain through my foot, almost but not quite reminiscent of a neuroma) and that freaked me out a bit, but by day six I was fine. Post op appt on day six was good, he was happy with my healing, some bruising on the toes, but no swelling and the incision was looking good. Continued with post op shoe and weight bear more than not, encouraged to only use crutches if I absolutely had to. Every day I needed them less and less, and increasingly using crutches was only because of shin pain due to not really being able to roll through the foot due to the stiffness of the sole of the post op shoe. I haven't used my crutches for the past four days actually, and I'm 15 days post today. Last night I was able to stand for almost an hour to decorate my car and then walk around for about 30 minutes at my kid's trunk or treat event and barely limped for most of it; the only discomfort I felt was in the sole of my foot from soreness due to actually walking [mostly] normally. My post op appt no. 2 was today, he took out the stitches, he's cool with me resuming my full weight lifting routine, bike, elliptical, etc., probably not running but I'm not a runner anyway. I'll probably be cautious all the same with any cardio based on what I've seen on this sub and opt for aqua aerobics (in five days, let the stitch holes close up first) and bike for the time being and move into walking and elliptical as my foot allows in a couple weeks, just slowly ramping up once I do.
All in all, I've had a good result thus far. I want to give myself a couple of days of walking normally before I hit the gym, but I'll give an update once I have for a few rounds! (If you saw my previous post, I was pretty concerned about it). The big test for me though will be when I feel comfortable enough to put on tap shoes.
And for reference sake: 38 yo female, slightly overweight, one autoimmune disease (Hashimoto's), my neuroma first developed in my late 20s
